Productive place to work
Contracted Sales and Marketing Assistant (Former Employee), Kansas City, MO – May 17, 2013
Pros: no weekends
Cons: not much diversity
Productive place to work, mean lady that replaces the secretary on her lunch. Good management and very fair. However, its a very diverse workplace.

Former employee
Registered Nurse (Former Employee), Louisille – May 15, 2013
Pros: it was a job.
Cons: very poor benefits for employees, hostile work environment, very poor management
When I started with CCKY it was a positive environment and the leadership was helpful and supportive but after about 6 months that changed drastically. There was a huge turnover in Senior management which eventually filtered down to middle management. In fact, one area actually had 3 managers in less than 6 months.
Communication is very poor throughout – more... the entire company and was even worse on the department level. There is no chance for advancement unless you play the favorites game. – less

Unfair managers display favoritism, disresputable employees.
Prior Auth (Former Employee), Tampa – May 2, 2013
Pros: hours, job was easy
Cons: favoritism, no background checks on employees, expected to work over time/weekends
This is a terrible company to work for. Some Managers/Supervisors are illiterate, don't know what they are doing, don't know how to lead. Favoritism is very real. Why would the class clown who spends all day gossiping and on breaks, and not doing their work merit a promotion? I have no clue, but that is what goes on here. Some employees come from very – more... shady backgrounds but they are handling people's private information. Witnessed harrassment, abuse, unprofessional behavior and language, stalking. No point in reporting it since the people doing this are their favorites. – less

Poor work environment and training.
o Customer Communication Specialist (Former Employee), Harrisburg, PA – April 30, 2013
The training was less than excellent and the work environment was terrible. Many co-workers were not willing to answer questions or assist with issues. I brought up the issues with my supervisors several of times but nothing changed. Unfortunately I did not learn much at this job besides what I do not want to do.

Good Company to work for. You know you did a days work.
Case Specialist (Former Employee), Hazelwood, MO – April 25, 2013
Pros: had free coffee and co-workers would bring in cake or treats.
Cons: you can dream about longer breaks. not in the picture.
There is all ways something to learn on a work comp. job. Information is changing all the time on how to make things better to get complete informaion for Specs. and Nurses. Management was there when we had to update things or just what was going on in the company. My co-workers were all smart, happy go people, but were there to do the job right and – more... answer any question you might have. The hardest part of the job for me was to make sure I had all the information that the nures would need so they could complete their jobs.
The most enjoyable part of the job was when our bosses would let us know we were doing a great job and we would have a birthday party for someone. – less

Great company focused on members and making employees feel appreciated
Medical Operator (Former Employee), Houston, TX – April 22, 2013
Pros: learning new and challenging things.
Cons: parking
I enjoyed coming in to work having time to greet my manger and co workers. I most enjoyed those days where the company would do something special such as provide breakfast and sometimes entertainment for us. I enjoyed the team building activities each division would have for its members like a boweling day or company wide cookoff division against division. – more... The hardest part of the job were the days that you would hear a mbrs recieved bad news health wise. – less

Productive and fun place to work
Technical Claims Specialist (Former Employee), Carrollton, TX – April 12, 2013
A typical day was getting to work clocking in, your work assigned was already sitting on your desk ready to be worked. Management was great and fair to all employees, there was no favortism. Co-workers were friendly and friendly employees were the best part of the job, everyone worked together.

Awful - Avoid it
Claims (Current Employee), Kansas – April 9, 2013
Pros: good co-workers
Poorly managed, supvsr's & mgr's are ego driven, too much emphasis on production, quality of work seems unimportant to them, little to no training provided at the onset or along the way (supvsr's & mgr's do not like it when you ask a co-worker for help/assistance), always a backlog of work, constant shifting of job duties, employee reviews are unbalanced – more... due to production that must be met per individual employee, spvsr's & mgr's do not like you visiting with co-workers except at breaks and lunch, too strigent and/or strict if you have to call in sick at the last minute or leave early from your scheduled shift (occurences they call them), medical health insurance premiums are expensive, sprv's & mgr's play favorites among employees, sometimes OT can be mandatory, grossly underpaid for the work you do - if you like a challenging job position, this isn't it....very boring, repetitive and mundane. – less

not a great place to work
unhappy employee (Current Employee), Harrisburg, PA – April 8, 2013
Pros: work from home 2 days/week
Cons: no opportunity for advancement - jobs are posted for those already chosen.....short breaks, insurance coverage, not allowed to network with co-workers while at the office
Monotonous daily assignment, easily bored, no deadlines to work toward. Environment not conducive to education and learning. Management only bachelor's level if that. Not structured, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Co-workers OK - lots of complaining about having to work - easily overhwhelmed but with what I am not sure. The – more... hardest part of the job is actually staying focused for the full day. No breaks, lunch break is 30 minutes only not a minute later. – less

challenging position with limited support
Provider Systems Information Administrator (Current Employee), Richmond, VA – April 8, 2013
Pros: working from home and the richmond, va staff
Cons: limited support from management
Gather all data/information from the healthplans and implementing the contracts into a Coventry database to price claims from all of the providers that bill patients for different products. Management is not very knowledgeable about the implementation of the contract, but most of the support comes from my co-workers.

Health Insurance Carrier, very highly respected
Member Service Specialist (Current Employee), Columbia, MD – April 6, 2013
Pros: congenial co-workers, good location, coffee
Cons: uncertainty of outcomes
A conservative Health Care Insurance Carrier, providing the highest level of service, under the most difficult of conditions . Weathering the Great Recession and preparing for Healthcare Reform. Very congenial co-workers.
Hardest part of the job is experiencing on a daily basis the uncertainty that has been facing the Healthcare Industry for the past – more... few years.
Most enjoyable part of the job is being able to directly HELP our needy members in our Medicaid Plan with access to their benefits. – less

Worst company I ever worked for
Project Manager (Former Employee), Scottsdale, AZ – April 2, 2013
Cons: long hours, unrealistic expectations, redundancy, inefficiencies
I worked at Coventry for 2 years. I can't believe that I lasted that long. It was the worst company I have worked at in my 25 year career. Management is developers that the company promoted to management. They don't have a clue what project management really is. Don't go there!
