A typical day involved picking up students from the morning arrival room and then move on to our room. Typically we would finish breakfast and then move on to the carpet for calendar. Then the kids had some center time and then a lesson based on whatever the theme of the week. After lunch was nap time, a quiet time of the day for the children to relax after a busy morning. After nap time was snack and then free play until parents came to pick them up. My co-workers were wonderful in passing along theme ideas and sometimes to give you a break to catch your breath. The hardest part of the day was when a child would lash out at other children and having to put them in time out and then later explaining what happened to the parents. The best part was being able to come up with interesting things to do with the kids and to be on their level.
