Pros: can always pick up extra shifts for overtime.
Cons: unorganized, dishonest, unsafe, money not patient care in their best interest!
Worked for them 3 years as a RN. The worse job I've ever had. The nurse manager and "director" had their favorites and if you weren't one of them, they were out to get you. It didn't matter how much you worked, how hard you worked, or how much your patient's loved you. If you ever went to either one of them with a problem or suggestion, they would only
– more... give you an answer to get you out of the office then treat you badly after that. I actually found a "list" my supervisor had of how she ranked the staff on my unit (oncology). Nurses with med errors, excessive absences, etc seemed to be her friends and ranked much higher on their performance on this "list" I wasn't suppose to have found. Patient to nurse ratios were ridiculous and changed for the worse every few months and from what I understand are still changing. They didn't even go by their own staffing grids due to never having enough staff and the horrible turnover rate. Patient care is horrible in this hospital and have heard they manipulate the patient satisfaction scores. I'm not going to keep rattling on but I know alot about the CNO, CEO, director of HR and it's no better. They will side with each other no matter what and always side with the nurse manager. It's also an unsafe place to work. A nurse came to work and told someone he wanted to shoot several of his coworkers and they didn't even fire him. They put him on probation for several weeks and allowed him to come back. When he came back he ended up having a problem with the prinicpal at his son's school and actually brought a gun to the school. They had to fire him once he was put in prison lol. It was also a great place for nurses to work that enjoyed narcotics for themselves. I know several nurses they caught multiple times and continued to allow them to come back. I would definately choose another place to work even if you have to drive further. My nursing license was definately on the line working at Crestwood! – less
