We are a small law office in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, looking for one intern to assist with the day-to-day operations of our criminal defense practice. One primary task will be assisting with field investigations with an attorney, conducting witness interviews and investigating crime scenes. Other tasks may include court filings, serving subpoenas, internet research, and miscellaneous office work.
No specific experience is required, but we'd like to find someone with a strong interest in learning about criminal defense law practice and who appreciates the importance of defending the rights of the accused.
We offer a range of work experience, and a window into one of the most interesting areas of law there is. You'll get to observe and assist with trials in the Wake County Courthouse, play an important role in advancing the interests of individuals accused -- often unjustly -- with crimes in North Carolina.
A healthy distrust of authority and a sense of outrage at injustice are encouraged in our office. And, as this is an unpaid internship position, we will do our best to provide an educational experience and will be extremely flexible in terms of hours -- we're looking for maybe 5-10 hours a week on a flexible schedule that can vary from week to week.
College students and recent college grads are encouraged to apply. We look forward to talking with you.
