I applied for a job in Abingdon, Md. a week ago. I was referred to the company by someone at the Walmart store in Aberdeen, MD. How long does it take to hear back from them. I can't seem to find a phone number to follow -up on my application. Any suggestions?

I have a phone interview tomorrow for data collector in Erie area. During my initial phone call today, they asked if I consent to physical. I am curious if they are doing this over the phone and out of my area. How do they go about getting that done? Do they have Drs in every city they can send you to. Wonder how long the whole process takes before you actually start working?

I've been working or another merchandising company for years now and suddenly, without warning, I get an envelope in the mail saying that it's been bought out by some company I've never heard of called Crossmark and that I have to reapply. I've read the comments on this site and they don't sound too positive. Realistically what do I have to expect? How do they work? Are there any other forums for discussion about this company out there? Thanks.

Do you work at CROSSMARK? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in?

Just applied here while I continue to look for more steady work. I recently worked for American Greetings for about two months and it was one of the worst employment experiences of my life. I understand both jobs give very low hours, but my question is what exactly do they expect a single person to get done in that amount of time? I finally left AG after checking my hours for the week and saw that they scheduled me for five hours for the week and I had an order of fifteen boxes coming in (this, combined with shopbacks/patdown/cleansweep was beyond ridiculous). I honestly went into it thinking it was going to be a very laid back "Do what you can" type of job until I realized they expected me to kill myself for $40-$50 a week. I mean, I'll still take the job if I'm offered, I just want to know how unrealistic their expectations are.

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Crossmark? Any advice on striking the right note?

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at CROSSMARK? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at CROSSMARK?
  • What do you think - will CROSSMARK grow fast? Are they expanding their staff? How does CROSSMARK stack up against the competition?
