MSA, North Reading, MA - July 28, 2011
This is a young company founded by an attorney and is managed by attorneys. Although other professionals are employed, nurses, technical writers and clerical, there is a disproportionate representation of attorneys in management resulting in lack of representation of other groups in policy decision making. Focus is heavy on revenue without considering the impact on family/personal time. They do not give employees the tools to achieve objectives and goals. Example: Employees are expected to produce a specified number of cases a month. When referrals are low the company cannot provide the workers with the number of cases to reach their production goals but their goals are not reduced. Employees are not given the tools to meet production goals. They are expected to put in extra time at the end of the month by which time the referral numbers may have increases. The imbalance of power appears to be deliberate as they are not open to suggestions or constructive criticism of policies. They have set a precedence of releasing employees at will and without pay when the employee gives advances separation notice. This employer under values its employees.
