The Company’s primary products include steel and aluminum cans for food, beverage, household and other consumer products, and metal caps and closures. These products are manufactured in the Company’s plants both within and outside – more... the United States, and are sold through the Company’s sales organization to the soft drink, food, citrus, brewing, household products, personal care and various other industries. As of December 31, 2008, the Company operated 139 plants along with sales and service facilities throughout 41 countries. During the year ended December 31, 2008, 74% of the Company’s consolidated net sales were derived from operations outside the United States, of which 74% were non-United States revenues derived from operations in the Company’s European Division. The Company’s business is organized geographically within three divisions: Americas, European and Asia-Pacific.
