Independant Technician
SERVICE TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXDecember 8, 2017
The company provided further education to help make your job more efficient and safe. Flexible when it came to time off. When ever you run into a problem on the job, there were many other senior technicians to bounce ideas off of. Very professional group.

Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  New Orleans, LAOctober 18, 2017
Mid level management was not strong in my location. Plenty of support is given, and there are not a lot of egos in the company. Upper management is not always helpful, and will micro manage.
Pros
Great product and people
Cons
Micromanagement

Field Service Technician (Current Employee) –  Oakland, NJOctober 7, 2017
I’ve noticed that management does not communicate well to one another, one person will tell you one thing and another will tell you something completely different. For instance I was told by management it was ok to wear a plain black sweatshirt to work instead of the heavy jacket they provide, when I walked in the shop foreman came up and told me I’m not allowed to wear that and I have to take it off. Or someone will tell me to do one thing, then someone else walks along and says no you aren’t supposed to be doing this, do this instead. It got frustrating.

While working for crown has been a very positive experience. All employees work well together to keep machines running. Upon hiring your pay increases rapidly.

Crown Workplace
Field Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Oakland, NJSeptember 11, 2017
An average day consisted of driving from different customers and performing maintenance on their forklifts. The biggest problem I had with the company was the lack of advancement. If you were doing well as a tech you would receive a .50 cents raise every 6 months which to me is terrible. Especially if your work is very good quality.
Pros
Paid Holidays, Weekends Off
Cons
Pay wasn't equal to skill set

Forklift Technician (Current Employee) –  West Sacramento, CAJuly 27, 2017
As a field technician you are always on the go, completing planned maintenance on various equipment, and repairing broken equipment. You are on the road a lot and traveling to customers locations, you have assistance in repairing equipment.
Pros
Great benefits, competative pay

Manager (Former Employee) –  Greensboro, NCJune 19, 2017
Only way to get ahead is to kiss butt. Everything is based on how well you are liked and if you drink the kool aid and agree to everything they say. You are just a number and if you care about the customer you don't fit in.
Pros
Air conditioning
Cons
All management

Road Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Las Vegas, NVJune 9, 2017
The company itself is solid, they treat their employees well, and are willing to accommodate if any personal life matters need to be addressed during business hours. Management was a little tough when dealing with goals and quotas but they were very good at understanding situations that came up.
Pros
Very stable work place
Cons
Working conditions are dirty and most of the time exposed to outside weather

Parts Sales Representative (current position) (Former Employee) –  Woburn, MAJune 6, 2017
It was a great place to work at first but then too much drama, micromanagement, and corporate interference ruined the culture. Other branches might be great to work at but the Boston one certainly was not.

Field Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Hayward, CAMay 19, 2017
Crown lift trucks seemed to value the bottom line over customer and employee relationships. During my tenure many high level long term employees were pushed out for not towing the company line.

Good place to work and learn
Field Service Technician (Current Employee) –  Richmond, VAMay 18, 2017
Field Service Tech's days are spent PMing trucks or running service calls. Travel can be a bit much, but largely left alone as long as things are getting done. Very good upfront training and annual training in various aspects of truck repair. Service vans kept in good repair. Tools are your own responsibility and an extensive collection is needed, but they have an interest free tool loan program to help you get started. Overtime is plentiful. Great place for a younger person to get in and grow. Opportunities to move and advance. Very safety oriented. Safety violations are one of the easiest ways to get fired, but they do provide equipment, training, and time to do things right.
Pros
Training, tool loan program, regular pay raises
Cons
Heavy work, long hours, difficult customers at times.
