Company Driver (Current Employee), Cedar Rapids, IAApril 24, 2014
Cons: everything!!
Please do not work for this company. I went to trucking school and got hired as a company driver. The pay sucks. If you have a family and real bills, don't apply. You have to fight for home time. If you have a family emergency and need to get home, dont count on CRST to care. You're better off working for McDonalds because your pay will look the same. – more... Just please save yourself the headache and disappointment and apply for prime or swift. – less

I was a Lease Purchase and student trainer, THe truck they gave me was in ill repair and was in the shop 10 days in a 21 day scope, and the problem was not fixed and when I owed them 1500 dollars at the end of a month I quit. Fleet Manager (Former Employee), Cedar Rapids, IAMarch 29, 2013
Pros: 401k
Cons: no breaks, tied to a desk, stuffy corperate atmosphere
The turnover rate at CRST is astounding. It is hard to believe that they can get anyone to stay with the company for a year. I worked as a Fleet Manager. It was a very unfulfilling, stressful, and awful place to work. The truck drivers get trained by the thousands every month because nobody stays for long.

Dont let them fool you
Driver (Former Employee), cedar rapids iowaMarch 27, 2013
The recruiter will tell you almost anything to get you to sign on with them. Your lucky if you can make enough to feed yourself let alone send money home. And don't forget, when they say .22cpm, it is SPLIT! You are really getting 11 cpm. If I could do it over I would have just got a loan to take the truck driving school myself

Recruiters will tell you anything you want to hear to get you in the door
Driver (Former Employee), McCookAugust 31, 2012
Pros: bob and shawn are good guys
Cons: workload vs pay, recruiters
Unfortunately, all those promises will be broken if you decide to work on that intermodal account they have in McCook, IL. Between the rail yards and the breakdowns; you will be working 70 hours/6 days a week for the rate they claim the "average pay" is there. Take my advice and save yourself from being a part of the 80% turnover ratio they have going – more... there. – less

CRST is a joke, dont waste your time.
Team Driver (Former Employee), NationwideAugust 18, 2012
Cons: everything
I drove for this company through the training portion and into the team phase. My trainer was of Asian decent and everytime we passed through a scale or port of entry he would tell me to answer yes if they asked if the second driver was a US resident. After training my partner jumped truck and they said I had to wait up to five days for a new driver. – more... I spent two and three days waiting for freight and the dispatcher, who controls your pay, was very arguementative when is came to disagreements on scale. Constantly bob-tailing for empty trailers and home time was non existent. During training they said CRST isnt for everyone and if you dont like it, well, your replacement is waiting at the door. What an awful company. – less

company driver (Former Employee), Cedar Rapids, IAMarch 14, 2011
Pros: good runs, steady work, they do want to improve driver life, new equipment
Cons: dont get u home for hometime, dont pay u any extra for hazmat, long wait for trainer after orientation, no solo positions
As a woman driver I had a hard time with the 28day training program which usually ended up 2mo. Im sure it will be a little more scary being that some trainers are only required to have 6mo experiance now. I went through this process 2 times. I had a death in the family that took me away for a year. The 2nd time was a little better but I still could – more... not get a woman trainer. I still went through 2 trainers. I guess I am hard to get along with.
My advise is if you go with CRST don't expect to get a lot of home time. They do keep you buisy, which brings you a good pay check. In their defense, they do try to improve on things and do listen to you as a driver, so with time Im sure things wont be the same for you as it was for me.
Thats how I see them at this point and time. – less

Don't care about you or there equipment
Driver (Former Employee), lower 48May 13, 2014
Pros: none!!!!!!
Cons: everything
I would just recommend to just STAY AWAY!!!!
Unless you want to work for a company that has one of the worst FMCSA scores and get pulled in to every scale and they don't care about your health at all and they don't care about there equipment at all
