MORE THAN JUST A JOB
Working at CSA is an enriching life experience that offers endless opportunities for both personal and professional growth. We work hard, and we celebrate our success. We learn together and we conquer challenges together. CSA is more than a company – we’re a family.
Over the past twelve years, we developed a great culture at CSA. But, a couple years ago we noticed our employees loved what our culture was, but didn’t know how to articulate it to people outside of CSA. So, we set off on a year long journey to figure out and define what our culture meant to a CSAer. The end result of this process are six cultural elements, also known as FESTIC: Fun, Empowerment, Self-Improvement, Teamwork, Individuality, and Client Service.
CSA ADVENTURE TRIPS
Some companies participate in team building exercises. At CSA, we go on globetrotting adventures. We’ve trekked through the Amazon rainforest and gone on safari in Kenya. We’ve snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef and stood in the shadows of Alaska’s Denali. We've stood on the Great Wall of China and toured some of the most incredible museums in Italy. We’ve been all around the world.
CSA Adventures afford our team a chance at the trip of a lifetime. No meetings, emails, no smartphones – just a life-enriching experience to remember for the rest of your days. Each year our Executive Team releases a request for proposals (RFP) to the CSA team asking them to describe a traveling escapade to a location they might not otherwise have the chance to experience. Each trip should be educational, adventurous, and entertaining. Most importantly, though, trips should focus on experiencing different cultures and expand our understanding of the vast difference between nationalities, while recognizing the similarities of the human condition and our environment.
CSA ADVENTURE CHALLENGES
Nothing builds esprit de corps like facing and overcoming a great challenge as a team. CSA Adventure Challenges build confidence and foster self-development, positive communication, and leadership skills. The first CSA Adventure Challenge was a 178-mile relay race, the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Challenge. We fielded a co-ed, eight-member team from both coasts with athletic abilities ranging from “I’m training for a marathon” to “I haven’t run in 12 years.” Together, this team ran up and down the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the middle of the night, climbing to 7,500 feet above sea level while dealing with high winds, rain, and 40 degree mountain air. The day was spent traversing the arid pathways of the Nevada Desert while the temperature climbed to 85 degrees. In the end, the team completed the challenge in 26 hours and 25 minutes (8:55/mile) and placed 50th overall out of 154 teams. Our Adventure Challenge teams have also taken on Ragnar Relay races in Southern California, Mount Zion Utah, Cape Cod Massachusetts, Washington DC, and Bear Mountain West Virginia. We have also expanded the number of teams we field each year as the firm has grown and are proud to have fielded five separate teams in 2015. Ragnar races aren't the only team events we challenge our employees with. Visit our Facebook page to check out some of our other team challenge events.

CSA is a strategic consulting firm that embraces and operates according to the principles of Guidance Consulting: (1) favoring broad long-term utility over narrow short-run profit, (2) placing the productivity of our workforce above the consumptive capacity of our shareholders, and (3) opting for a financial statement that transcends the traditional bottom line approach by addressing social responsibility as our primary objective. At CSA we are dedicated to cultivating an environment that engages our workforce and enhances the productivity of our employees; we maximize the potential of each individual while collectively measuring the value we create for our clients and society at large. We recognize that hiring great people and inspiring them to Do Great Things will yield improved processes that enhance productivity and provide greater efficiencies. This allows our clients, government and commercial, to realize time and cost savings that they can reallocate to the greater good in tangible ways, such as reducing the national debt, lessening the tax burden, improving the standard of living for future generations, and enhancing the readiness for our warfighters. – less
