Technical Special Agent (Current Employee) – Jacksonville, FL – April 25, 2017
Great job and atmosphere, but like all corporation you have to worry about job cuts which CSX is notorious for. Things are constantly changing with the railroad if you do get hired make sure you keep your resume updated.
Not a bad job if you don't mind the layoffs. I worked for CSX for three years and was laid off 90% of the time. Great job if you have the seniority to hold a job. Poorly managed company all the way around. No communication.
Operations (Former Employee) – Florida – April 22, 2017
There are jobs downtown where you can make good money and only work 40 hours a week. Most of the operating jobs are typical railroad jobs. You work long days and a lot of them, but they pay well for that.
Carman/Welder (Current Employee) – Chicago, IL – April 21, 2017
Great pay, Benefits are good.Retirement if it holds up is one of the best you can still get. Most of the guys you work with are good people. Easy laid back work. I've worked 10 times harder for half the pay
LOCOMOTIVE UTILITY WORKER (Former Employee) – Waycross, GA – April 17, 2017

Pipe Fitter/Facilities Maintenance (Former Employee) – Louisville, KY – April 12, 2017
Good place to work, management not the easiest to understand, hours could be extremely long as in a 16 hour day followed by more 16 hour days and they don't understand when you say you have to get some rest.
Signal Foreman -System Signal Construction (Former Employee) – Florida, Georgia, SC, NC, VA, AL. – March 30, 2017
Still operates on the "good ole boy system" If your not one of the chosen ones they make it hard for you to succeed. Supervisors have no accountability. You are guilty until you prove otherwise when accused by a supervisor. The Union has no power
good pay, decent insurance, good retirement
No accountability for supervisors, nepotism, good ole boy system, Union has very little power.
