As an assistant CVS, I am expected to provide excellent customer service, supervise clerks and the store, and deal with manager paperwork. This job taught me patience and how to supervise others. Typical pharmacy work environment. Learned a lot about customer service, organization, and teamwork. Co-workers was a delight. Hardest part was exceeding goals. The most enjoyable was working for a company that doubled in growth.

I work as a pharmacy tech. It is a good job, for a college student. You can make decent money to put yourself through college. CVS pays very little for the amount of work you do. The rate that you get paid is not even near the market rate. The performance pay raises are small. They love to give you more responsibility but they will ony pay you for it. – more... While working at CVS I learned a lot about customer service and how the world of a corporation works. The management knew how to run a profitable store.

wait on customers and stock shelves all day long
learned that having the same routine every single day is not for me.

co-workers were sometimes hard to work with, some people who had been there for longer than you thought that they never had to wait on customers and always would hide in the stock room.

the people i worked with were like family. great benefits if your full time.

I started working with CVS in high school as a part time cashier and eventually worked my way to the role of trainer for the district.

From an employee's stand-point, CVS/Pharmacy has changed dramatically within the last decade. A typical work day involves a high amount of communication within the pharmacy as well as with costumers. Management was not watching the store and assisting in keeping things in order. When sales dropped they cut the hours of those who needed the hours.

In my time at CVS I have learned to perfect my customer service and leadership skills. Everyday is a new and different challenge. I have worked in urban, suburban and rural stores and in each store there are always people to please. I got good experience working with drugs in pharmacy to prepare me for my career as an RN but this company will work you to the bone. They never admitted to being "understaffed" albeit intentionally. They always insited we were "under trained" i.e. just didn't work fast enough. Expextations are unrealistic there but that's likely why they are so profitable.

Overall, I liked the experience. It gave me time to practice my skills and apply them in a retail pharmacy.

my experience was not good. didn't care for the environment and staff.

This job constantly deals with satisfying customers and working with other employees in order to get work done in an efficient and timely manner.
