Takes some thick skin to work here but worth it
Server, Bartender (Former Employee) –  Capitol Heights, MDFebruary 23, 2017
A typical day at work during the weeknight shift gets pretty busy. An employee should arrive knowing that the demand for service is high and will take some fast learning and quick pacing to meet the needs of all of your guests. Once you get that down, it's better after that.

Assistant Manager (Former Employee) –  Springdale, OHFebruary 22, 2017
While I had a short employment history at Dave and Buster's, the company does provide a great experience for their customers. The company culture is focused on exceeding the needs and expectations of their customers.

Best place I ever worked
Hostess (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXFebruary 21, 2017
Management was extremely friendly, they always stick by their employees. Although sometimes communication between the managers needs to improve.
The employees here, are amazing. They are so friendly, and funny. It really felt like one big family
The Guest are the problem, all they want is free stuff and will find anything to complain about.

They are pretty flexible with hours
and there is a ton of things to do with this company. I never got bored
Pros
Amazing management and employees, fun atmosphere
Cons
hard to advance, the clientele

Managers need to communicate more and not talk down to employees, the staff is wonderful but communication is a. Main factor to work on, as well as respecting schedule guidelines.

was a super easy place to work. They had a lot of managers that were hard to keep up with sometimes but I guess there isn't anything wrong with that. very laid back environment.

It can be a hit or a miss at this company
Server (Current Employee) –  Irvine, CAFebruary 9, 2017
I love working for this company but just like any job it has its pros and cons. a typical day consists of having fun with co workers, while also having fun at your job. management can get on your nerves and sometimes it doesn't seem like they really care about you, but all in all everyone is there for each other and its a cool company to work for.
Pros
co workers, free games, 50% off food
Cons
some of management, company rules

Dave and Busters is a very different style restaurant to be a server. There are a few different dining areas within the store that you can work in. Therefore you can experience different things from shift to shift.

Exciting work environment with a sports bar and arcade!
Server (Current Employee) –  Manchester, CTFebruary 2, 2017
A typical day at work would include serving guests with the utmost respect and care all while serving food and drinks. Suggesting and guiding guest through our menu and restaurant is also expected. Since my employment with this company I have learned how to maximize my time in order to serve every guest in a timely manner. Management is always willing to lend a helping hand and never falls short on positively giving recognition to the hard working employees. The hardest part of the job is balancing all requests and maintenance of every guests needs and concerns. Also along with balancing this there are restaurant duties that are required in order for the kitchen and staff to function correctly and accurately.
Pros
Staff, free acarde games, and enjoyable work environment.
Cons
Short breaks, bad-mannered clientell, and long work days.

Not the friendliest environment to work at
Server (Former Employee) –  Springfield, VAFebruary 2, 2017
The people I used to work with as far as coworkers were great, fun and loving. Management on the other hand was extremely unprofessional. Some of the managers had romantic relationships with some of my coworkers which caused many problems in the environment. Management is not also understanding of our personal problems so it would be hard to request of certain days if I needed the day off.
Cons
no games, no free lunch, small breaks if any at all.

Operations Manager (Former Employee) –  Tulsa, OKFebruary 2, 2017
Great company overall. They'll provide you with the tools to be successful. The culture at D&B has to be second to none. The worst parts of the job were the long hours and work life balance.

Great culture

Decent job, nice pay, don't expect much more
Employee (Former Employee) –  Frisco, TXFebruary 1, 2017
Fun atmosphere to work in, decent pay, there's really no place like it. If you are a manager or supervisor, you won't have any trouble getting 40 hours, but sometimes they will cut you down to 38 or 39 hours. Part time people are usually in school or have a second job to make ends meet.

Benefits are very good, again only if you are full time. Pay is decent but don't expect raises too often even if you are working hard. They are tight when it comes to giving raises but have no problem wasting money on useless signs for the store or other unnecessary things.

If you do a good job, you may move up if there's an opening, but don't expect to transfer to another store if you're a good employee. They simply won't let you. The general manager makes that decision and he is more worried about lining his pockets than he is about actually caring about his employees. Many are not very happy here because of his condescending attitude toward us little people in the world. For this reason I know personally of 3 people who have left because of this. The other managers in the store however are very kind.
Pros
Fun place to work
Cons
General manager, limited chance of promotion
