server (Former Employee), Utica, MI – May 14, 2012
Pros: grate music and great preks for contest
Cons: pay for work didnt equate
Dave and buster is a great resturant to visit however working there had its ups and down the pay wasnt acceptable for the work they had doing like catering party for 5 hours you would walk out with 110 split between 6 people which was crazy for the work you did and that amount is before taxes.I liked the guest they made my job more fullfillingand some – more... would ask for me so. i didnt like have they told me that i should act more like the wait staff go out and drink with them and also not get up set with they complain about table of a certain race i felt uneasy about and eventual departed – less
Winner's Circle (Current Employee), Westminster, CO – May 10, 2012
Pros: food discount
Cons: no drinking, even off the clock, no breaks sometimes during rush periods, hours are minimal during summer months.
A typical day at work is a punch in, work, punch out. I was very well trained in my area, and my coworkers are amazing, but I've noticed that there's a lot of dissonance between management and the hourly employees. I have had some difficulty due to some very strange circumstances, but management does appreciate a good job; however, they're reulctant – more... to give out praise for a job well done. – less
Cocktail Waitress (Current Employee), Utica, NY – May 2, 2012
Pros: fun people, fun times
Cons: time
The time I work, 9pm to 2am, sometimes gets in the way of my sleep schedule, and my social life. The pay is great, the people are great, but I cannot stay up all night and be up by 8am the next morning.
Server, Technician (Current Employee), Castleton, IN – April 27, 2012
Pros: possible free meals otherwise half off, work with school schedule
Cons: long shifts, guests(sometimes)
Normal day starts out slow because of slow business but picks up as the day goes on. Business slows down again toward the end but, the cleaning up at the end of a shift can be quite extensive. Management can be too strict and nit-picky on some cleaning procedures. Co-workers are excellent and very friendly and willing to help when possible. The hardest – more... part of the job can be dealing with the guests that come in. – less
Event Coordinator (Former Employee), Orlando, FL – April 26, 2012
Coordinated large events such as corporate parties. The most enjoyable part of the job was hosting corporate events where the company chose team challenges. This is where the employees of the company competed by playing games to win prizes.
Winners Circle Clerk (Former Employee), Woodbridge, ON – April 17, 2012
Pros: half price on food while working.
Cons: long shifts.
At Dave & Busters there are always long but good shifts. While there i was able to learn how to help customers better and communicate with my co-workers better too. The management was sturdy and were always on top of things. I never really found anything hard about the job, sure it got busy but what work place doesnt. My most enjoyable part of the job – more... was the games and food. – less
Front Desk Attendant (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – April 16, 2012
Pros: fun place to work
Cons: short hours
typical day at work is fun and fast paced. learned about working with various attitudes to keep the business running. management and coworkers are productive and knowledgeable. enjoyable part of job was being so fun.
A work environment that cares a lot about their guests but does not care about their employees
server (Former Employee), Cincinnati, OH – April 2, 2012
Employees are not respected by managers. Issues are not dealt with and rules are not enforced. Guests are allowed to treat servers poorly with no consequences.
Front desk (Former Employee), arlington, tx – March 26, 2012
Pros: meet new people
Cons: mgrs show too much favortism
I use to enjoy working there until the new gm came and ran all of the GOOD , HARD WORKING employees away. The managers show too much favortism. You are scheduled to work long shifts with no breaks and when you finally do get a break its basically the end of your shift. This is a place to come and have fun but NOT to work at.
