Day Wireless Systems - great reputation and a place to grow a career
Sr. Human Resource Representative (Current Employee) –  Portland, ORApril 24, 2017
With the economy growing, there are more and more jobs opening up in the workplace. Sometimes it makes it hard to decide which company fits you best!

Every company has their pros and cons, you have to decide which is more important to you.

DWS is known for being more of a family environment - we work hard and play hard. Sure, sometimes it's tough meeting deadlines, making sure we have everything ready to go for the clients, sometimes it gets super busy and sometimes it slows down.

We're always trying to grow and improve. We research and ask our employees want they want, what they need. It may not change overnight, but change happens - and 99% it's for the better.

If you are seeking a job, where you don't make a difference, where you can hide / sleep at your desk, yeah, DWS isn't for you.

If you want to be part of a team that has great longevity and abilities to grown in tons of different departments within a family own business - then this could be your new home.
Pros
24+ locations, ability to grow and get promoted, benefits, typically only work 8am to 5pm.
Cons
You have to put in the work to get promoted, have to pass a criminal, MVR, drug screening

Non existent managerial communication. Lots of office politics, poor attitudes
Journeyman installer (Current Employee) –  Burbank, CAFebruary 27, 2017
Extremely negative working environment. Nonexistent motivation and teamwork among projects and mobile employees. More like a group of individuals, each working, thinking and looking out for themselves. Zero accountability for work preformed. Lots of finger pointing and drama. Cancerous environment to work in day in and day out.
Pros
Work trucks you bring home everyday. Gas card
Cons
Pay, leadership, attitudes, accountability, teamwork, politics (office & Jobsites) among employees. Gossip and finger pointing

Sometimes nice place to work with little to no appreciation of employees
Radio Technician (Current Employee) –  Washington StateJuly 11, 2016
They refuse to honor commitments made to the employees, especially with regards to pay. Extremely stingy in all areas, pay, equipment, vehicles, etc. Co-workers and customers are the only bright spot in this company. Management is ridiculous to the extreme being micro-managed from the top not allowing the local managers to do what has to be done. They only provide training if they have to have it for a customer/or dealer requirement and of course try to find a way to make the customer pay for it.
The work itself is also very enjoyable being constantly changing and varied from what you are working on to being in a different location almost daily.
Cons
Pay

Outstanding company with little to no debt, personable leader with open door policies.
Tech SRVCS Director (Former Employee) –  Milwaukie, OregonAugust 6, 2015
Solid service providing family organization, with a foundation that continues to be sustainable because of the CEO's long term vision to diversify it's portfolio taking on DAS/BDA and tree farming solutions worldwide, and other Wireless technologies. The CEO is outstanding, and has a high concern about family, and the environment. I would not hesitate to work for Gordon Day in any capacity.
Pros
Leading Motorola Solutions Partner.
Cons
8 - 5 mininum flex time, nothing casual about Fridays.

Excellent management, great working enviroment!
Tower Technician (Former Employee) –  Milwaukie, ORApril 6, 2015
4, 10 hour days a week consisting of traveling to sites completing work and returning. Pack a lunch, and be physically able to climb on a moments notice. Tower jobs consist of building a tower site from ground up to replacing bulbs on towers and troubleshooting outages. You should be able to work at heights and be trained on how to change out connectors and make appropriate jumpers as well as understand hoisting points for putting up antennas.
Pros
Beautiful views from up tower, company has great benefits.
Cons
Tower climbing is dependent on job bids being won
