Our mission is to continuously improve health care in the communities we serve. Participants in our efforts include health care consumers, clinicians, providers, purchasers, and policy makers.
As the Quality Improvement – more... Organization (QIO) for Maryland and the District of Columbia, Delmarva is responsible for ensuring that almost 700,000 Medicare beneficiaries receive the best care in the most economical way. Physicians, hospitals, government, community groups and Medicare beneficiaries work together with Delmarva to improve health care to the maximum extent possible. Delmarva is also leading quality improvement programs in several other Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern States, including Ohio, Vermont, Delaware, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Quality improvement projects include assessment of quality of care provided by MCO's and HMO's, focused quality improvement studies, and encounter data validation.
Over the past eight years, we have emerged as a national leader in the field of cooperative quality improvement.
