Do not work here if youn are old
Worker (Current Employee) –  Jackson, TNMarch 19, 2016
Once you get in the retirement age they let you go so they do not have to pay you your retirement. It doesn't matter what level you are on in this company once you hit retirement they will let you go before you are able to clam it.

High stress but freindly work enviroment
chemical process engineer (Former Employee) –  Indianapolis, INNovember 17, 2015
I worked there 24 years so it is not a bad place to work. The expectations are high and as a growing company stress can be a factor. In the technical areas there is limited room for growth. In other areas Marketing, Sales, Engineering, etc. there is more. As the company has grow politics and agendas have become more of an issue but overall not bad.
Pros
A growing company
Cons
They seem to be getting out of manufacturing and into sourcing

Plant Manager (Former Employee) –  Lapeer, MINovember 3, 2014
Running the business, particularly, the factory conversion and assembly processes with a 'mini company' approach engendered ownership among the shop floor leadership. Metrics tracking provided the daily and shift data to drive improvement behaviors. Data driven decisions made rapid improvement become the norm.

The structure allowed for more auditing and standardization. Training effectiveness increased. Customer service impacted positively.

It was exciting to watch, coaching opportunities were abundant and participation gave managers, TL's and teammates a greater sense of team.
Pros
everyday brought new opportunity, customer was the driver of behavior, new product categories always out in front of every manager.

Shipping clerk (Current Employee) –  michiganJune 13, 2014
A typical work day is supporting the shipment of goods produced, organize work place to make sure customer receives the correct shipment, report defective materials to the supervisor, and make sure the work area is clean and to follow all safety rules. The management is absolutely sexist and is unequal. The people who also work there are not the sharpest either, the employees can start fights and get away with it because they kiss the bosses butt. The hardest part of the job is coming into work everyday and trying to accomplish the quota and if you do not come close you get yelled at but if you do accomplish it you're not doing a well of enough job and you need to work harder. There's a no win situation here between your co-workers and the management.
Pros
30 minute lunch and you only get to clock out if you leave the factory.
Cons
get yelled at and complained about all the time, work, people, not getting paid enough.

Very unstable Upper Management, Day to Day Confusion
Team Leader/Manager (Former Employee) –  Jackson, TNJanuary 7, 2013
There is a huge problem with favortism, so bad that they have their own little groups too talk about it. Very Weak Upper Management, some have no idea what there purpose really is? So frustrating working in a inconsistent manner of everything they do.

Brand/Channel/Product Marketing Intern (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INFebruary 9, 2015
Typical day at work: Completing competitive analyses of various products and brand campaigns, data tabulation and synthesis of consumer and market research, participation in new product development/cross-functional teams, fulfilling sample and giveaway product order needs, generating surveys for marketing department use, completing new model workflows (PIS), building standard presentations for internal and external use.
I have learned how to synthesize information from the field and generate reports to multiple functional groups within the company. I have learned the importance of clear and concise communication as well as the importance of honesty, ethics, and equity within working relationships.
Management is hierarchical but communication is open and equal amongst all parties. The culture is one of respect and constant learning and improvement.
Managing multiple projects simultaneously can become difficult with the amount of meetings and potential delays in production.
I enjoy the product marketing side due to the internal production and research intensive characteristics. The culture of the company is also very enjoyable.
Pros
culture, learning environment, experience and skills gained
Cons
no benefits as an intern, hourly wage, limited hours
