Worst company anyone could work for
Claims Operations (Current Employee), Boston, MA – May 28, 2013
Pros: free parking, close to public transportation.
Cons: senior management has no backbone, the company is always in a state of chaos due to lack of stategic planning and senior direction.
The typical day a work is dealing with complete nonsense. The senior team will work you to the bone, publicly embarrass you, call you stupid, ridicule you, berate you, and tell you you to "get out" if you don't like it. The senior team will not stand up for themselves or an employee. They make decisions but will not say they made the decision because – more... the are afraid of the CEO. Instead of acting like professionals, they look to blame anyone thet can including entry level employees. Some people have been fired even though it was an officer that made the decision. The CEO flips out over the littlest things. She will walk by people inthe hall and make faces at them. If you are not part ofthe click, you are suppressed, demeaned, and ostricized. If you work here, you will be bullied, harrassed, and punished for the smallest things. Try to speak out and you will be kicked out. The COO doesnt do a thing all day but walk around fist bumping others. Dont think you are going tobe ableto go to HR. The VP of HR is in Wisconsin and is a complete tyrant. Try to talk to the Sr VP of HR and she will refer you back to the VP of HR. It is all a game. If you like abuse and an uninspired job, work at DQ. If you are intelligent and wont allow yourself to get caught up an organization that is unethcal and doesnt care about people, pass over DQ and dont look back. If you want proof that the company is horrible, take a look at the number of open jobs for a 1000 life company. – less

Working as benefit csr
Member/Provider Service Rep (Former Employee), Grafton, WI – May 16, 2013
Pros: training
Cons: hour drive to work, not being able to get supervisor help as needed
Heavy phones, we were tech support to providers, helping members and providers with all questions and concerns. The most rewarding part was being able to help the person on the other line.

Monarchy in Management
Member Advocate Specialist (Former Employee), Austin, TX (Remote) – March 19, 2013
Pros: great peers, independence, awesome breakroom, upper management engages with employees
Cons: insufficient training, unclear policies and procedures (never assume certain parties are on your side)
I would have to say that upper management is exceptional to work with however in the Texas region depending on who you work with, management can take things a bit personal and allow their personal feelings determine their decisions. As an employee who always tries to look what is best for business, some suggestions are not taken consideration as some – more... management authorities frowned on subordinates giving innovative ideas and rather use micromanagement to put people in their "place" attempting to cause intimidating and setting examples to evoke more examples of their authority. – less

Productive, professional yet laid back.
Customer Service Associate (Former Employee), Charlestown, MA – January 24, 2013
Pros: free coffee and you can wear anything socially acceptable.
Cons: incredibly short/minimal breaks.
a typical day at work was very routine; answering phones and providing needed information to dental offices and members. I learned multiple systems as well as navigating quickly between them. Management was efficient though the only real contact was through email. Co-workers are all friendly and professional. The hardest part of the job was the endless – more... repetitiveness; the easiest part of the job was the same. – less

Micromanaging and mistrust at its best.
Current Employee (Current Employee), Wisconsin – December 29, 2012
The company has a habit of not trusting their employees. They have team members spying on others. A lot of professional jealousy and management favoritism. They claim to be commitment to employees' career advancement, that’s only if your supervisor likes you. A very hostile, unprofessional and unorganized environment to work in.

The most unorganized organization
Customer Care (Current Employee), NA – August 2, 2012
Cons: forced to work though lunches
Being forced to work though our lunches is unacceptable. Admin seems not to care about moral at all. Motivation is lacking across the whole company as a whole due to this. People being hired now make MORE then the employees that have spent years dedicated to the company. Upper management seems to hesitate to speak to with customer care and this causes – more... major delays in resolutions to our customers. This company makes too much money to provide such poor quality of care to callers. No stability. – less

Very productive, great environment to work. Must have good vehicle
Customer Care Specialist (Current Employee), Grafton, WI – July 14, 2012
Pros: overtime / free lunch
Cons: transportation / car pooling is very slim.
I currently work in the Customer Care Center, where I provide services to Dental Providers, and Insurance Members. I answer a two-line phone, and take about 20 calls a hour. I answer questions regarding insurance benefits, member eligibilty, and locate providers for members. About my management, they are friendly, and when they are able to assist, they – more... provide great input, and feedback. The environment (co-workers), is nice, everyone works together. Everyone is there to help each other. the hardest part of my job is getting additional help when needed, sometimes the management team is too busy, and even if you are a great representative with minimal issues, it's hard to get assistance. The most enjoyable part of my job is learning the dental field, and terminology. – less

Dentaquest is a great company and employer.
Claims Analyst (Former Employee), Boston, MA – July 13, 2012
At Dentaquest, A day at work for me consisted of mostly data- entry. I would work 8 hours a day reviewing hundreds of insurance claims and matching the correct provider information with the claim request before adjudicating the claims and allowing them to be processed. The Management was very helpful and taught me a lot about how the insurance and healthcare – more... industries work. My co-workers were very hardworking, friendly people who helped me on numerous occasions with technical difficulties when I was first starting out on the job. The hardest part of my job was working as fast as some of my supervisors. the most enjoyable part of my job was being able learn from the challenging experience of processing insurance claims. – less
