A meaningful position
Operations Analysts/Program Manager (Former Employee), Tallahassee, Florida – April 8, 2013
Pros: great benefits, feeling of satisfaction
Cons: traveling 90 miles one way to work
A typical day a work was to keep a balance between the section of DOH and the DOH and other various agencies. The co-workers were excellent and were willing to help each other. I learned life values and how to show compassion for clients outside of the department. The hardest part of the job was not being able to complete some parts of it for long periods – more... of time. The most enjoyable part of the job was finally seeing programs, cases, etc., fall into place making it seem that you have the satisfaction that you have completed what the public expected. – less

I work with the teachers and office staff. I work with an R.N. who delegates my duties. I communicate with parents. I love the children and their families, I just can't work where I – more... feel after 17 years of service I can not move up in a pay increase. I also order supplies three times a year. . – less

Administrative Secretary (Former Employee), New York, NY – January 31, 2013
Pros: schedule
Cons: no benefits
a typical work day at the department of health would be busy with phone calls and emails. I've learned how to conduct conference calls, i got familiar with power point and excel. Management was wonderful really hands on with me, i didn't really work with co-workers. my hardest challenge at work was answering the question clients would call with. most – more... enjoyable part of the job, was getting all my work done before the end of my shift – less

Pros: free time of brainstorming
Cons: short tea time
Typical Day at work - is a pay day were you find that there is no one to approve or authorise submission, especially supervisors.
What i've learned - to priorotise, dedication and being patient with people with anger and meeting of deadlines.
My co-workers - i met old people than me and the taught me many things about Supply Chain Management.

It was a job and I was appreciative for that. Managers played favorites and the work load was not evenly distributed. Made working relationships difficult.

A fun and productive day is when you can honestly say, I love what I do at work and not complain about what you do.
Lead Vital Records Assistant (Former Employee), Washington, DC – October 19, 2012
Pros: free lunch would be good, even better when you are respected by the customers, management, and your co-workers
Cons: short breaks for thoes who need it, heathcare, classes on team work, stress, respecting others, and mangement
A typical day at work would be a normal day where everybody is happy. In customer service you learn how to deal with the everyday people and the diffrent nationality. You get to learn how thier caulture are in thier country. I like management when they help thier team out and not hide out in the office and try to figure out what the employees are actually – more... doing. The hardest part is learning to deal with employees when they are having a bad day. The most enjoyable part is helping out the customers everyday it make your day better when you can reach out and lend a helping hand not only to customers but co-workes as well. I am a team player when it comes to co-workers, I like learning and teaching them what I know. My experience in customer service for twenty-five years have been a great experience. I have seen many diffrent people alone the way and I have learn a great deal from them. – less

A typical work day consists of inputting confidential patients information into the system. Reviewing the demographics to ensure everything has been inputted into the system as well as no errors. Taking phones calls and directing the hospitals to the right areas as well as people to answer their questions and concerns.

Busy and productive work environment with little down-time, good comradarie with co-workers
Staff Services Analyst (Former Employee), Sacramento, CA – August 20, 2012
During my civil service with the State of California there was really no typical work day once I became an analyst, because management priorities and assignments could change instantly when directed by the department; they did provide the necessary training to complete required work. I learned how to organize and manage my assignments and work day effectively – more... between internal and external customers, and work efficiently with limited resources as budgets decreased. Management offered opportunities to learn different skills to develop oneself, they were also concerned with how family and outside factors could impact daily work. Co-workers were willing to share what they had learned in the past, and assist each other to perform at their best; friendships developed outside of work. A diverse population and workforce increased awareness and acceptance of all segments of society. Hardest part of any position was the short turnaround times for many short-notice drills when legislature requested information. Most enjoyable aspects were producing an excellent work product that was recognized by management and customers. – less
