CLINIC COORDINATOR, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES, Des Moines, IA - May 23, 2015
Working at Des Moines University was probably the best job I've had as a medical assistant. I worked for a few months as a floater and got to know so much about all the medical departments. I was promoted to the position of Occupational Health Services Coordinator, which was a staff member position, after 6 months of employment there. I thoroughly enjoyed working as the University’s representative to local companies and government agencies in contracting medical services for their employees. I enjoyed working with patients and physicians, enjoyed providing exceptional patient care, enjoyed marketing the University's Occupational Health Program to local companies and government agencies. I enjoyed all that the University had to offer it's employees; exceptional working environment, great salary, excellent benefits, as well as working with medial students. In 2000 my husband was recruited by a group of DMU students to start a podiatric laboratory in Edmonton, Canada, which is why I had to leave my position with the University, but I still have friends and acquaintances there, and consider my experience there an important part of my life.
