admins are treated like secretaries from the 60's; fetching lunch, etc.
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), New York, NY – May 16, 2013
Pros: work from home option
Cons: required to fetch lunch for management
The company provides overall great benefits. However, tuition reimbursement is almost impossible to get granted. Employees are all great to work with. Management provides no guidance or motivation to grow with the company. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to work from home on a snowy day.

Nice workplace, friendly atmosphere, a lot of flexibility re: leaving earlier (doctor's apt., etc.), unlimited sick days (but not too much..), opportunities to take classes/trainings in order to advance in specific position.

Culture not conducive to growth and mutual respect
Global Transaction Banking Specialist (Former Employee), New York, NY – April 29, 2013
As a temp for 5 years with Deutsche, I found myself constantly begging to be given some sort of hope for a permanent position. All I heard was "go out there and perform, go above and beyond and the right people will take notice!" I can honestly say BULL. No one took notice. No one even cared. I begged for direction for a career and didn't get it. And – more... when they decided to move my department overseas, they didn't even tell me to my face. They had my agency call me, on a Friday, after business hours. That's what I got for "performing". – less

Work/life on the decline
Risk Manager (Current Employee), New York, NY – April 3, 2013
Pros: benefits are good compared to other industries.
Cons: long hours getting longer. management going one way then another each quarter.
Moral has been on the decline since 2009. "Do more with less" is the motto you will hear and what that means to the average employee is more hours and stagnate pay. In my area there is little chance for movement around departments or other areas in the bank since there is lots of competition for whatever opens up.

Pros: fast paced work, appreciation of employees, online training provided
Cons: sometimes have to wait for approval for release of time sensitive files
varied work, able to work without micro-management, teamwork when needed, management open to suggestion for more effective procedures, when there were large daily shipment of files had to wait on the file room to bring out the files to start work on them, satisfaction of getting out the large daily shipments.
