There was never a dull moment and you get to work with people from all backgrounds. However, since it is a non profit funded by donors, you could lose your job so easily if a client reports you.

This was a horrible place to work. The clients always received the short end of the stick it was a pity. The clients is what kept you coming back but enough was enough. Upper management had no clue what they were doing or what their job was. The supervisor was just as bad and spiteful. It seemed everyone who was in a upper position could have cared – more... less and was burnt out and miserable or just plain evil and spiteful. Staff on staff was horrible the intimidation and talking behind each others back and being spiteful and reporting people for abuse was ridiculous and upper management encouraged this. The clients were treated poorly often times they had no food in the house, personal hygiene products, clothes appropriate for the weather or that even fit they did nothing about. You worked 16 hour shifts sometimes they expected you not to take a break or eat. Many times on the weekend over night staff would not show up and they expected you to work a triple and tried to cover it up by telling staff to clock out for four hours and clock back in. The pay was horrible. This place was a bottomless pit from PRIDE to the group homes. Devereux New Jersey especially the lower southern region needs to be shut down! And hopefully those clients have a better opportunity somewhere else! – less

Little support. Very "bottom-line" oriented for a non-profit. The people are great (non-admin). The leadership is clueless. Always switching directions, no real plan or vision.

I will just say little. I went to work to make a difference, well your coworkers many did not its just a pay check and they are not therapeutic at all. Its bad enough to watch your back to clients but on your DSP2's! No time and half for Holidays and you have to work 90% of the holidays.You have to work your weekends even vacation time you get just – more... one weekend. I feel the clients were in charge not the staff. I could go on but the turn over is high I would not recommend full time at all. I ran into a person who said their relative went back after many years and they said the place has gone down hill. Few kids can change here I feel bad for the kids. Deverux is great for someone who is enrolled in school. A typical day of work consist of helping children with their problem solving skills and their needs.
