Webmaster/SEM Specialist
Working from DigitalParc’s Minneapolis office, the Webmaster/SEM Specialist will be responsible for creating and implementing competitive SEO strategies, and for managing client web properties and domains and doing minor website updates as required.

Primary Duties

  • Work with the Web Services Director to consult with clients, develop strategies and cost estimates, and present SEO plans to clients
  • Implement SEO methods to increase client visibility on major search engines
  • Conduct keyword research, and set KPI benchmarking and reporting for organic search optimization efforts
  • Define SEO requirements in a product management capacity by recommending site enhancements that maximize ROI and increase rank of natural search result listings
  • Create and develop link building strategies
  • Analyze and translate quantitative and qualitative data from web analytics tool (including Google Analytics) into actionable SEO plan
  • Optimize site architecture, optimizing URL rewrites and HTML tags, and developing alternate directories
  • Research and develop SEO best practices
  • Assist with web redesign projects to ensure that SEO’d pages are maximizing traffic and page conversion
  • Assist with copywriting to manage keyword density of copy
  • Leverage sitemaps and robots.txt files to ensure crawling of deeply nested pages
  • Use and analyze information to glean insights for improving search ranking, overall traffic, and the value of the traffic

Secondary Duties

  • Manage client web properties, including domain renewals, FTP site setup, web property information audits, file management, and troubleshooting configuration problems
  • Ensure client domain information, domain registrations, web hosting plans and email accounts are up-to-date and running smoothly
  • Create new domain/hosting accounts, migrate web assets, databases and settings to new accounts and complete DNS changes as required
  • Implement minor website updates for clients as needed

Minimum Skills Required

  • Educational background in SEM, marketing or advertising
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years professional experience in search engine marketing and optimization with understanding of how it fits into overall online and business marketing strategies
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
  • Exceptional professionalism, communication, presentation and client skills
  • Current knowledge of SEM and SEO best practices
  • Strong knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies
  • Familiarity with web analytics software
  • Strong quantitative skills, ability to quickly analyze data and act on it
  • Solid understanding of web technologies to ensure SEO best practices are implemented
  • Ability to analyze and speak intelligently about a wide variety of performance metrics
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent project management, analytical, problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good understanding of web property management, including FTP, DNS management, domain registration and WHOIS information management
