Radiology Technologist, Baltimore, MD - October 2, 2015
A typical day at Baltimore Medical system could include just about anything and everything. When I worked there Baltimore Medical System catered to mostly a geriatric population. It was important to be aware of their physical needs as well as emotional needs. Some of these older patients were just lonely and wanted someone to listen to them.
As the radiology tech. my day included bringing patients into the x-ray room, taking their x-rays finding their x-ray jackets at the end of the day making sure all the x-ray exams along with the patients x-ray file jacket were placed in a green canvas bag for the courier to take to the Radiologist for official readings of the exam. It was my duty to track these jackets and make sure the official report was received within 24-48 hours. It was my7 job to maintain a filing system for the x-ray jackets to ensure they were easily obtainable. Other responsibilities included insurance verification and patient referrals.
