Chaotic/Dysfunctional Management Structure
Executive (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAAugust 18, 2017
My principal reason for leaving Dignity Health (hospital in Los Angeles) is as follows:

1. Chaotic Reporting Structure
2. Bad regional leadership
3. Very top down culture
4. Lack of sensitivity to local market
5. Very cut-throat, ruthless culture
Pros
Sophisticated Analytics, software, great branding, dedicated teams at the hospital level
Cons
Chaotic ineffective reporting structure, lack of sensitivity to local market nuances, lack of collaboration between divisions, ruthless/cut throat culture

Avoid St. Mary Long Beach at all costs
Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Long Beach, CAAugust 17, 2017
People come and go quickly. Most staff live in constant fear of losing job. We had our loved director fired with no notice while the manager that everyone hates keeps her job. The hospital leadership is no good and we all know it.
Staff constantly fight with each other even in front of patients. People talk openly at lunch about where else they are applying and interviewing for new jobs. Your best day is your last day at St. Mary.
Stay away!!!
Pros
Tuition reimbursement
Cons
Leadership. People leaving work in tears almost every day.

Fun place to work, management doesn't seem to be on the ball when it comes to workplace issues. The culture was very good with a lot o nice people. There really was no hard part of the job and my co-workers did make it enjoyable.

USHealthworks Occupational Medical Clinic, although challenging was a great Learning Experience.
Physical Therapist Assistant. (Former Employee) –  Valencia CaliforniaAugust 13, 2017
USHealthworks was more concerned with Patient Quantity, Versus Patient Quality. Clinic was extremely Busy! The Physical Therapy staff were Professional and great to work with.

Management is greatest weakness
Technologist (Former Employee) –  Greater Sacramento, CaAugust 12, 2017
Worked in Dignity Health facilities for 24 years, employees were caring and very team oriented. Unfortunately, management is incredibly deficient in qualifications, communication, transparency, and basic common sense.
PTO accrual is very nice, pay adequate, workload reasonable, and mission admirable.
The culture in the facilities is wonderful and family like. Management, however, has made great strides to break up the teamwork environment.
Under qualified supervisors have been raised through the ranks and hold all employees to different standard.
Supervisors and managers play favorites and are often downright vindictive.
Advancement is possible but there is no guidance or mentorship for those who do advance, hence the weaknesses in management.
There is one HUGE positive, management does reward good workers financially at review time....but money isn't everything.
Pros
Great coworkers, admirable mission, family environment, advancement opportunity
Cons
Poor management, lack of transparency, little guidance

Registered Nurse (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaAugust 10, 2017
I've worked at many hospitals, both as staff and as a traveler. This has by far been the best job I have had. Very supportive and is always eager to hear from the staff.

Supervisor Sherry Nunes, Phone (Current Employee) –  Walnut Creek, CAAugust 5, 2017
I had one of the best supervisors in the world. I had great co workers not just co workers but friends. The office is team player oriented. I have worked there for 11 years & feel very satisfied of my accomplishments that I have done at St Francis. I have been recognized for assisting the concussion program.

HR Generalist (Current Employee) –  Chandler, AZAugust 2, 2017
The opportunity to grow is slow paced and the ability to advance is many years in the future. The company has a strong benefit package and try's to create a good culture for employees to work in.

An OK place to work as a part-time empolyee
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) –  Glendale, CAAugust 1, 2017
Unorganized. CEO's were constantly changing. Complaints from nursing staff not addressed. Nurses working in Women's Center complained often of nursing administrators. Nursing department managers were also changing frequently. Regular full-time nurses complained of many things and did not seem happy to be there.

The best team providing service outcome for each and every patient!
Working in a positive environment , with great management. Hardest part is not taking patient insults personal. Being able to provide service to the one in need.

important work but unreliable hours
Health Unit Secretary/Patient Care & Monitor Tech (Current Employee) –  Chandler, AZJuly 25, 2017
Busy and rewarding environment. Caring for people in their time of need is difficult but satisfying as well. Dignity Health has progressively become more about business than about care for either the employees or the patients. This is sadly reflected in management decisions.
Pros
interacting with patients
Cons
high stress

Registered Nurse Float Pool (Current Employee) –  Chandler, AZ 85224July 19, 2017
A typical day within dignity health includes a positive environment with helpful and kind employees. I work part time and have enjoyed the flexibility as well as the structure they provide. The hardest part of my job is the float pool shuffle. I have learned to be very flexible and this has enhanced my career. I love walking around and having people greet each other, the little things such as flowers in the rooms for patients and the structured ways that the management handles situations.
Pros
kindness cart of snacks provided for staff, the flowers and the small acts of kindness for the patients and the staff.
