Plumbing and Refrigeration Assembler, Kalamazoo, MI - June 17, 2015
I worked here for a bit over two years now and honestly I would stay if I was not moving. The environment is pretty relaxed and there are so many great, hard working people here that really get the job done. As for the work, a typical day (for me as someone who works second shift) would be coming in and meeting with one of the builders from days to plan out how we wanted to go through building the machine. We build custom chillers so it will often take a few days to even a few weeks to complete them so it is very important that we communicate from day to day. Working here has definitely helped me build a good work ethic. This was my first job out of high school and I was fortunate enough to start here through a CO-OP program through school. They taught me so much including how to read blueprints, braze, plumb, weld, operate forklifts/cranes, and much more. I would say that the most enjoyable part of my job is when I finish a machine. I get this great feeling of accomplishment when I get to step back and look at what I was able to build with my team.
