About Direct General Insurance
Tickets, accidents, and credit problems are no problem for financial services holding company and insurance provider Direct General Corporation. Founded in 1991, Direct General offers non-standard personal automobile coverage and motorcycle insurance through its insurance companies and agencies. It also offers roadside assistance, emergency protection, – more... a bit of term life insurance, premium finance and other consumer finance products, and has branched out into tax preparation services. Direct General sells its products through a network of more than 420 sales offices in a dozen states east of the Mississippi. Private investment partnerships Calera Capital and TPG Capital acquired Direct General in 2007.
The company's insurance agencies include Direct General Insurance Agency, Cash Register Auto Agency, Right Choice Insurance Agency, and Florida No Fault.
In 2011 Direct General and Nashville-based TNA Entertainment formed a mutual brand-exposure partnership through July 2012 in which Direct Auto gained promotional rights to all of TNA's events, including its flagship Impact Wresting television program on SPIKE, billboard sponsorship, and exposure on all TNA's pay-per-view events and more than 50 TNA Impact Wresting World Tour live shows, as well as sponsorship of its "Coastal Chaos Caribbean Cruise."
Also that year Direct General initiated a job search focused on hiring former military workers and their spouses for its claims call centers in Dallas and Tampa. – less
