The Company

Direct Wines produces a large volume of direct-to-consumer material promoting Wine Clubs that offer an exclusive range of high-quality, international wines. These Clubs are branded either using the home brand ‘Laithwaites Wine’ or partner brands such as The Wall Street Journal, Zagat and Virgin. Most are direct response promotions in a wide variety of offline channels (catalogs, package inserts, press ads, newspaper inserts and more).

All the creative is handled by a talented in-house team of writers and designers. To enable our Senior Art Director to devote more time to developing new formats and key brand messaging, we need to add a hands-on creative Production Project Manager with good knowledge of the print production process and proven skills in managing schedules, process and people. This role will bring excellent organizational and communication skills to the department, helping to ensure that all work is finished to a high standard on time.

Main responsibilities:

  • Departmental and inter-departmental co-ordination of schedules and trafficking, working closely with Marketing Operations (which maintains the Master Schedule), wine planning and web team
  • Manage and produce different versions of core offers, such as test versions, third party endorsements, brand spin-offs, remnant (last minute) print ads etc
  • Manage communication with, and sign-off from, business partners
  • Manage provision of wines for photography, coordinating with the wine team
  • Manage upload of files, including tagging and uploading of images, to Wine Safe
  • Organize most efficient use of server that stores all our files
  • Manage one or more junior designer


  • Good experience of scheduling and trafficking
  • Solid graphic design experience as this is a hands on design role
