Dismas was founded in 1964 to provide transitional services to persons being released to the community from prison. It offers a setting in which an individual leaving incarceration moves into a supervised setting that provides opportunities for independent decision-making and accountability. Dismas supports offenders in finding employment, re-establishing family and community ties and managing tension and anxiety during the readjustment process.
