Newspaper Solutions
Sales (Former Employee), Chicago, IL –
Pros: very flexible schedule, breaks when needed
Cons: commission pay only
At Newspaper solutions I never had a fixed schedule everyday I would call my manager and ask if there was any work for today and he would tell me where to go, what I mean by that is at Newspaper Solutions the company had partnered up with some retail stores that would allow employees from Newspaper Solutions to come into the store and set up a booth, – more...  where I would talk to customers that come into the store and try getting them to buy subscriptions to Chicago Sun-times. My hours would work around my schedule I was able to go at anytime and leave at anytime. I learned a lot from this company but the biggest thing I learned was how to be good at sales. This job helped me a lot I got a lot of customer service skills from this job because there would be a lot of talking to customers and answering questions. I believe the hardest thing about this job in the beginning was making a sale, because of some of the questions customers would ask you or what to say if they say no to the subscription but as time went on I was able to answer all there questions and say things to get them interested even after saying no. I really enjoyed being able to take a break when I needed one or taking lunch when I wanted to. – less

Pros: they had like a christmas dinner there, hot dog cookouts for lunch
Cons: the machine kept breaking down, got nothing out on time sometimes
Was an ok job wasn't somewhat a safe place to work in but it was a good paying job to get the bills paid. The machine kept breaking down wasn't in the budget to buy a new not really get the newspapers out on time the revenue numbers kept going down so thats why my job closed down. Sorry i couldn't say anything fun about it. I do miss some people and – more...  friends i did work with there. There was good nice people there sometimes. Two put of three bosses were cool and friendly and would help us out. I wish sometimes it wouldn't close down i would still be working. – less
