Dispatcher II, Billings, MT - October 7, 2013
The job is OK but the work load is heavy and the pay is salary so you work too many hours and no time for a normal life. The training was minimal. The person who was responsible for training me would not give up control so my "hands on" experience didn't start till that employee was gone and it didn't do me any good. The manager was aware of this issue as I complained all the time. The people were nice and benefits were great, but they wouldn't let you go home until everything was done and they kept adding to the routes and you had to re-do the manifest over and over again and I prefer to do the job right the FIRST time. There needs to be a cut off point for the manifests. It just didn't work out for me at all. When the President went off on me the second time as apparently the manager didn't tell him the situation during training, I couldn't be there any more and listen to the abuse any more.
