At one placement the typical day was accounts receivable at a pipe company. I worked at the computer all day receiving payments and printing out invoices for customers. This was a temporary position, I was placed in covering a maternity leave for the permanent employee. Management was awesome as well as the co-workers. At the end of the shift each day, I would close out the computer accounts with an old printing system. The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with the people and some had post it notes under the cash box so I kept the same rules for everyone.
At another placement, I worked as a front desk receptionist. This was a pleasant experience, working with many different types of employees like the accountants. The typical day was answering heavy phone calls and attention to detail of every person walking in or out of the office. At this job, I learned how to laminate and pay attention to detail. The hardest part of the job was when the calls were coming in and we had to watch the phones and write down everyone's name who was walking in or leaving most particularly at lunch hour when there was a crowd of employees signing out.
