Dog Gone Smart Pet Products, the global industry leader and leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products in their product category is seeking an East Coast Sales Manager. You will be part of a notable and recognized global company with cutting edge pet products supported by a top notch team. You will be responsible for growing sales in the east coast USA region by working closely with our distributors, key accounts and rep groups. You will supported by powerful marketing and sales programs. You can work out of your home but extensive travel is required and you must have easy access to a major airport. Company car is provided. This position reports to the North American VP of Sales and Marketing. The territory covers the entire east coast and some mid-Atlantic and Southern states. This position is salaried and has a commission and bonus plan plus full expense re imbursement. We invite you to apply for the position. Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manage an account base of distributors, key and individual accounts, building net sales and volume
  • Sell, promote and merchandise Dog Gone Smart’s products and services
  • Deliver training seminars to customers and to educate them on our products and our ground - breaking technologies
  • Develop creative account specific strategies along with VP of Sales and Marketing to drive results
  • Attend and exhibit at industry and distributor trade shows
  • Ride alongs with each region’s distributor sales personnel
  • Negotiate additional display space for stores
  • Develop relationship with store managers
  • Implement and contribute to promotional programs and tactical sales plans to exceed goals
  • Rollout new product launches and increase in-store presence and market leadership for all products
  • Stay abreast of competitive climate in assigned territory

Desired Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 2 year Associates degree required
  • At least 4 or more years prior field sales experience in the pet industry
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge and contacts in this region

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and presentation skills, highly competitive, determined, and self-motivated
  • Drive to grow and build a territory and a passion for pets
  • Good analytical skills and basic understanding of business and business terminology
  • Good work ethic, professional appearance and approach, high integrity
