Great Opportunity to Learn Captivate and Rental Car Industry
INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER/TECHNICAL WRITER (Former Employee), Tulsa, OKJune 25, 2014
Pros: focus on training principles and interaction
Cons: stressful environment due to potential mergers and layoffs
I worked with some really talented people at Dollar Thrifty and enjoyed collaborating and sharing with them. I was not an expert at Captivate when I started, but I was when I left. I was pushing the envelope to make the program do things it wasn't built to do. Management was dedicated and gave me the opportunities to create some great training. One – more... co-worker in particular was such a good fit to work with. We shared what we discovered about the program and together we able to accomplish great things! I loved most of the projects I was assigned to work on and was allowed to do some really fun and enjoyable interactive presentations. – less

Not that much fun
Service Agent (Former Employee), Sarasota, FLOctober 22, 2012
Pros: discount on rentals
Cons: short breaks
A typical day can be stressful, I didn't learn a lot, somewhat well managed, co-workers were a great team, the hardest part is the heat I had to be in sun almost 70 percent at a time, the most enjoyable part I got to drive the cars.

fast pace and exciting
Car valetor (Former Employee), Airport road DublinApril 17, 2013
Pros: fast pace and good relationship with co-workers
Cons: working in bad weather
Day to day I would clock in and get straight to work. Cars would be left to be cleaned fast and efficiently. There could be up to 60 cars on any given day. i had a great relationship with management and my co-workers. Hardest part of the job was bad weather as we worked outdoors.

A company that provides one an opportunity to excel at all levels. A vibrant fun-filled environment. Never a dull moment.
Admin Controller (Former Employee), O.R. Tambo airportJanuary 4, 2013
Pros: transport, happiness
Cons: midnight shift
Compilation of updates every 15 minutes. Tracking of company's rental vehicles on the "blue-bird' programme together with Car-track and Vodacom tracking service. I assisted with admin duties such as credit card purchases, payments and fuel consumption. Any rental related query was given to me to tend to. My department worked shifts so team work was – more... vital. Co-workers were very organised and communicated pretty well. The hardest part of the job was handing over a shift. If the previous shift worker did nothing during his/her shift, then this created havoc since our system demands continuous data input and output. What I enjoyed most was the over-time hours of work, this meant more "moolla" in the bank. Overall, I loved being a part of Dollar Thrifty, however circumstances did not allow me at that time to strive for success, success, success. – less
