Senior Instrumentation and Control Technician, Virginia - April 23, 2016
Poor opportunity for advancement. would rather hire from outside then promote from within. Hard work not rewarded. Management interested in their own personal advancement over what's best for the company. Run a 24/7 operation with 8/5 coverage. Management takes advantage of group camaraderie, and makes expectations dependent on that relationship, yet with the increasing work load doesn't realize the group relationship is thinning. Management also believes that their position gives them technical competence and an elevated life status, and they talk to employees in that manner. Heavy on safety, light on ethics. IT makes job extremely hard due to their exaggerated security fears. The people that work in offices think it is the job of the people who work in the field to make the office jobs easier, when in fact it should be the opposite. Dominions saving grace is the company sponsored retirement, and a company vehicle. I enjoy working by myself, but because of the remote job sites working alone my not be the best practice.
