Dorney Park, a combination amusement and water park located near Allentown in South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, was first developed as a summer resort area in 1884, and was acquired by the Cedar Fair Partnership in 1992. Dorney Park is one of the largest amusement parks in the Northeastern United States and serves a total market area of approximately 35 million people. The Park covers more than 200 acres, and includes 8 rollercoasters, thrill rides, family fun rides, and PLANET SNOOPY. The waterpark has a combination of more than 3 dozen pools, rivers, slides and other water attractions. Throughout the park are a wide variety of food locations, merchandise shops and games, as well las a wide variety of live shows. The park also has an extra pay attraction, DINOSAUR'S ALIVE. In Septemeber the park is transformed in HALLOWEEN HAUNT, with 11 Haunted attratctions, numerous shows, and the daytime-kid-friendly BOO BLAST. The park employs over 2,500 seasonal employees during the operating season of the first of May until the end of October.
