Responsible for the material flow in and out of the warehouse, transportation activities, and housekeeping. Ensures the quality of all received materials, components, and packaging materials are inspected and sampled as applicable. Ensures that receiving, inspection, and warehousing processes, and staging of product and packaging materials are carried-out in a consistent and efficient manner. Applies testing procedures as needed to maintain company established and customer requested standards. Follows housekeeping, hygiene, sanitation, pest control, safety practices. Ensures that all activities are followed based on procedures, instructions, etc., as well as ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, & ISO 14001 requirements, and FDA, GMP, OSHA, & EPA regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Hardworking, diligent, self-motivated, results oriented, organized, trustworthy, good team player; listens, takes directions and communicates well, polite.
CDL driver license is required.
Forklift operation experience (certification: a plus)
Receives materials and components. Records amounts to confirm receipt. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to the predetermined areas such as type, style, color or product. Weighs or counts materials as necessary.
Advises Raw Material Supervisor of any material that arrives in an improper state so Supervisor may take appropriate steps to protect the interests of the company as to claims, credits, etc.
Guarantees the integrity of the materials during storage, transportation and handling.
Fills any requisition, work orders or requests for materials to production and distributes.
Transports material to production as required and as instructed.
Required to operate forklifts, following all safety guidelines.
Delivers tobacco to production in the specified receiving areas.
Pickup orders and delivers to production.
Adheres to all procedures, instructions, etc., as well as ISO 9001, FDA, GMP, EPA, OSHA, etc. practices.
Communicates well and, in a timely fashion, and with his/her immediate supervisor.
Assists assigned Quality Assurance personnel when inspection duties are fulfilled.
Receives all incoming deliveries, making sure materials are in good condition; helps sort and place all materials in the appropriate warehouse condition and location.
Assures all materials are received in an expedient manner, safely and cleanly stored and later delivered on time to manufacturing.
Contributes in keeping the warehouse clean and organized, as well as ensuring the integrity of the facility, racks, tools, machinery and other company assets in the workplace.
Escalates any issues and informs any incidents to the supervisor.
Informs when inventory levels are low.
Assists in physical inventory at the end of month.
Manages and enforces all procedures, instructions, etc., as well as ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, & ISO 14001, FDA, GMP, EPA, etc. practices for all assigned personnel.
