Department: Default Litigation and Attorney Oversight
Reports To: Primary: Supervisor, Default Litigation and Attorney Oversight & Secondary: Manager, Default Litigation and Attorney Oversight
To research and draft appeals of denied claims made to regulatory agencies and mortgage insurance companies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble and review information needed to prepare answers and responses in appeal of denied claims for reimbursement of funds from clients, agencies, regulators and third parties
Conduct thorough investigation into loan level delays and provide research and findings to management.
Provide monthly reporting of findings and proposed changes to be made to ensure future compliance with all applicable requirements.
Perform such other responsibilities and duties assigned by Manager of the Default Litigation and Attorney Oversight Department.
2-5 years in law office or corporate legal department or mortgage servicing company with concentration in mortgage servicing, compliance, foreclosures, bankruptcy and real estate practice.
College degree and/or paralegal certification preferred.
Experience in a legal environment dealing with mortgage servicing and filings as well as experience with LPS and Fidelity systems and Microsoft Office
Superior interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills; proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet programs; excellent written and oral communication skills; willingness to work overtime as needs dictate;

Legal Department; Mortgage Disposition Department; REO and Claims Department; other Company managers and personnel as necessary to complete projects assigned
