About DRURY HOTELS
At one time or another, perhaps the Muffin Man could be found at one of these hotels. Drury Inns offers some 130 places for travelers to rest their heads in 20 states throughout the US. The company has a concentration of properties located in Missouri (about 40 hotels, including 20 in St. Louis) and Texas (some 20, including 10 in San Antonio). Brands – more... include Drury Inn, Drury Suites, Drury Inn & Suites, and Pear Tree Inn by Drury. It also has a handful of Drury Plaza Hotel locations that offer enhanced meeting space and on-site dining. The chain, established in 1973 by the Drury family, was one of the first hotels in the limited-service segment. The Drury family runs the company and owns all the Drury hotels.
The company sets out to differentiate itself from a crowded hotel market by continuing to build, own, and operate all of its hotels. It also hopes to attract guests by providing amenities such as free wireless Internet, free long distance and local calls, free popcorn and soda in the lobby, and free hot breakfasts. Through its 5:30 Kickback service, Drury serves free food and beverages to all guests between 5:30 and 7pm.
Drury Inns is working on growing its portfolio of properties at a steady pace. In 2011 the company broke ground on a new hotel in Westminster, Colorado. Also that year it entered the Florida market when it began construction of a hotel in Orlando. In addition to new construction, Drury Inn is also engaged in expansion through acquisitions. In 2011 it purchased the Radisson Phoenix Airport South in Arizona and converted the hotel to a Drury Inn & Suites. – less
