On January 2, 2007, Duke Energy completed the spin-off of its natural gas businesses, named Spectra Energy Corp., including its wholly owned subsidiary Spectra Energy Capital, LLC. The natural gas businesses spun off primarily consisted of Duke Energy’s Natural Gas Transmission business segment and Duke Energy’s 50% ownership interest in DCP Midstream, LLC.
