Job Summary: To proficiently operate the baler, scrap system, and hogger in such a way to prevent down time of the Laminator or converting operations.

Rate of Pay: $14.03 per hour plus $.30 Shift Differential

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 2 pm - 10 pm (OT will be required)

High School Diploma is required and applicants will have to pass math screening prior to hire.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proficiently operate tow motor, unitizer, baler and entire scrap system
  • Make out tow motor checklist at the beginning of shift
  • Keep conveyor’s and machine centers loaded/unloaded as required (this includes skids and product)
  • Flip loads as needed
  • Load trucks making sure all skids are on trucks and that the loads are neat, stable, and there are no broken skids or bands
  • Recharge batteries on electric tow motor
  • Make sure dock light is green before loading/unloading truck (if dock light is not green tractor wheels must be chocked)
  • Be able to give truck drivers the correct bills of lading and have them sign the bills
  • Keep all finished loads in the right area
  • Remove and hog up all laminator scrap as needed
  • Remove and hog up all converting scrap as needed
  • Band up and load butt rolls on the scrap truck
  • Weigh skid waste from converting and laminator
  • Change wire as needed to minimize down time of the baler
  • Keep aisle between shipping and baler room clean of debris
  • Blow down baler room at least once per shift
  • Remove and empty bags of dust from the dust collectors
  • Unitize all loads per order specifications
  • Straighten up/frame in/package securely, all loads to ensure the product arrives intact to the customer
  • Reload banding and stretch film as needed
  • Perform the required quality checks and record on the quality checklist
  • Maintain cleanliness of all working areas, especially from the baler to shipping dock area
  • Ensure all COGS work orders assigned to this position is done in a timely manner
  • Remove, weigh, and hog up all scrap in a timely manner to prevent any downtime or disruption of effectively running machine centers
  • Band up, weigh, record and load all bales on scrap truck
  • Keep baler full of wire
  • Blow down baler and room once per shift on first and second shift
  • Remove bags of dust from the dust collectors on first shift
  • Supply machines with skids as needed by machine centers
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
  • Perform all tasks safely
