Accountant II Lead (Former Employee) – Jacksonville, FL – November 4, 2015
Working at Duval County Heatlh Department allowed to to gain the experience I needed in Medical Billing. Because of the its fast pace work conditions I was able to multi-task and learn to work very well on my own.
On a typical day here I checked In with my supervisor and she would give me a handful of folders to document into the computer. I had my own office so it was ok to work alone. The work that I did was clerical duties such as filling papers, computer documentation and whatnot. My co-worker was awesome only because it was my god sister, we didn't play or get in trouble we knew what we had to do. the hardest part of this job was the computer work at first but down the line I got a hang of it and started it on my own.
Environmental Specialist III - Supervisor (Former Employee) – Jacksonville, FL – April 1, 2014
I was very fortunate to have worked at the Duval County Health Department (DCHD) for 17 years. I now have a broad range of environmental knowledge, including facilities, onsite treatment and disposal, and water. I developed many programs during my tenure at DCHD and trained many, many people on compliance. A day at my job included assisting permit applicants; inspecting facilities for compliance, and using my extensive knowledge of MS Office to create invoices and permits. My programs were audited more than by once by Tallahassee administrators and were always found to be nearly perfectly in compliance. I made many lifelong friendships at DCHD, and now wish to use my knowledge, skills, and experience to further broaden my environmental, health, and safety career.
There is never a dull moment at my job. I've learned so many new skills personally, and professionally. I work with some amazing men and women. This job teaches and shows you how to build great communication skills.
