Bizarre place to work for
Sales (Former Employee), NYMay 2, 2014
Pros: gained outside sales experience
Cons: too many to list...
If you give someone a contract and then do not honor that contract, its probably not a good place to work. If you then tell them they are going to be demoted and then have them interview for the demotion, its not a good place to work. If you have them travel 4.5 hours one way for that interview and then tell them you've decided on giving you that demotion – more... and they will lay you off instead...ITS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO WORK. Shady company, shady management, TERRIBLE pay, empty promises, no quarterly, biannual, or annual reviews. I'd suggest on finding another company to work for.... – less

Accounts Payable Department Worst Place !!!!
accounts payable clerk (Former Employee), Houston TexasJanuary 27, 2014
Pros: 1 hour lunch
Cons: a new type of slaverly .
DXP is a great company benefits or great, the A/P Department is the worst A/P department I have every worked for the pay is very low. The turn over is very high in that department and if you have any issue please do not go to HR for help you will not get it or your out the door. People leave this department just as fast as they come.Very very stressful – more... this is once again a very stressful high turn over department and no one higher up sees this the turn over speaks for it self. – less

Great place to work, Supervisors are easy to work for.
Site Safety Supervisor (Current Employee), Odessa, TXJanuary 17, 2014
Pros: competitive work pay, great insurance
Cons: long hours, 24 on call
Great job, great business to work for. The typical work days are long but that is part of the job in the oil field. Learn a lot each day, very experienced co-workers that can teach you a lot. Management are easy to work for and are understanding when it comes to family issues. Over all a very good place to work and learn.

Mechanical Designer - Drafter (Current Employee), Houston, TXMay 14, 2013
Pros: pay
Cons: boring, dull, grey
Its Okay. Good pay but company doesnt value employees. Its very repetative. Can be dull and boring. NOV is right behind and you see them have quartly bbq's and parties outside with very happy employees. Here, everyone is kinda down and just keep to themselves. Also alot of favoritsm toward certain employees.

DXP - Houston is a bad choice
IT (Former Employee), Houston, TXSeptember 26, 2012
Pros: semi-casual, decent if you're ex-mil (and a competent laborer)
Cons: bias, abusive of contractors and their rights, 0-notice terminations, low pay
Laid back ex-military club. Extremely bias towards military and ex-personell. Poor overall employee ethics & very strange hiring practices. Many immature employees. Heavy abuse of contract labor rights. Dishonest interview promsises as a norm. Excess contract workload shifting. And my favorite.. Surprise Terminations.. as in "hi, thanks for coming to – more... work, leave now." unless you are ex military, of course. Then you are allowed a week or two's notice like a civilized person.. But what about me and the other 5-6 guys I saw arrive and/or leave in my very short time there... Save yourself the misery of working here. They have big goals as a manufacturer and are fast to aquire companies, I'll give em that. Nationwide integration is fast... too fast actually. They make a lot of mistakes and brush it under fast. They'll just use you till either tenured incompetents or the misstrusted quit, orrr they get their regular people back from extended/regular tours because they are bored with their job.. but want a job when they get back.. What a disrespectful workplace.
Oh yea, also a seriously obvious racial (or should I say ratio) bias. – less

Manger (Former Employee), Houston, TXMarch 29, 2012
Pros: growth company
Cons: senior managment questionable
DXP is a highly innovative company shaping itself to be a premier public held organization. With the high growth comes a lot of opportunity, but downside is people are lost due to constant restructuring. The senior management are cordial and committed to excellence, but sometimes do not walk their talk.
