Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – California – July 7, 2016
A typically day is coming in to finish off work that others didn't do on there shift. I had to figure out the job really all by myself. I have been told when people talk to me, it sounds like I been there for years and only there a few weeks. I had to train others. Management/Supervisors could have had the place ran a little better. Staff always calling off. Supervisor on salary and they work for a few hours, like they work hourly. The hardest part was when I am the only employee there and management leaves you behind all by yourself and you had to figure out how to route not even knowing the systems. Training was for a couple days to learn to route, and supervisors left within 2 hours of your shift. Only thing enjoyable was having drivers that care to get you lunch while you work all day.
Dispatcher/Customer Service (Current Employee) – Hayward, CA – March 23, 2016
I love working for Dynamex Inc. Although it has it challenges at times, I enjoy working for the company quite a bit. Management works with you on your schedule, they are flexible on days and hours that you are available. Everyone gets along pretty good and it's a good atmosphere to be in.
Independent Contractor/Courier (Former Employee) – Elk Grove Village, IL – April 26, 2016
Dynamex has lost multiple accounts due to poor service from a high turnover rate. They are constantly digging into the contractors pockets, such as lowering the i.c's rates and raising their own costs. They charge the the I.c for the privilege to use their android app, which they require. They require insurance that even the state does not. They will not raise rates of their customers no matter what. Their own employees have been jumping ship so the I.c's contacts are rarely the same. The work they offer is not worth the trouble of being an independent contractor.
Paid per package. No compensation for anything else, no benefits, Independent Contractor position, okay if you need something to get you by while looking for something else. You set your own hours, work when you want. Get in good with the dispatch and managers and you'll get better routes.
Make your own schedule
Use your own vehicle, unpredictable routes, Not always paid correctly
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) – Salt Lake City, UT – October 19, 2016
Was a good Company to work for. Hard work and very long days. Constantly in a vehicle driving across valley and delivering to many business's and homes. Was fun until I had health issues and had to leave the job.
Company Vehicle, Company gas card. Working by your self.
Dispatcher (Former Employee) – Oakland, CA – July 12, 2016
great job but unless you can multitask and work under pressure i wouldn't recommend this position. Often times decisions need to be made at the drop of a dime with no hesitation. It was quite challenging dealing with an abundance of customers and other routers all the while having to dispatch, walk the warehouse, do load out, log, and dispatch.
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) – Elk Grove Village, IL – July 12, 2016
I've give seven years to this company as a independent contractor, not bad in the beginning, but with time and the continuous change in management became worst and worst. They don't care about the drivers, no communication , bad dispatching, bad management ,asking for hi cost commercial insurance, on top of your expenses with your car maintenance. They will make you promises witch they will never keep. I had days when I actually have to take money out of my pocket to complete the job!!!!! They hire new management with no knowledge in delivery business or, logistics ! They treat you as a employee when you are a independent contractor. As a independent contractor is your right to know how much a job is paid, they will never tell you, making you to drive 40 miles for 10 bucks. They will promise to new hire people that you are going to make decent money, but after they get their first pay check they quit, realizing it was a waste of time. Continuously lowering the 50% pay for the jobs, charging you extra fees without letting you know, and when you find out about it and you asking why, they will give you all kind of answers witch make no sense. I rate working for this company with one star , because is no choice to rate lower ! I am that type of person who will always go the extra mile for my job , which I have always done for Dynamex but was not appreciated.
It was such a joy to go to work and do the best you could to make everyone's job easier. This company is still growing so fast and they are paving the way for different processes in the accounting department.
Dispatcher (Former Employee) – Elk Grove Village, IL – February 19, 2016
Didn't even last a week!!! Coworkers in dispatch were very rude and not helpful and there definitely was favoritism! It didn't matter if you walked around the facility and talked with other coworkers for an hour while still on the clock!! They let me go because I wasn't a "good fit" which is funny because I wasn't even fully trained and not given the chance! I am trying to not put the race card in but I was the only white person in the office other than my boss and I felt discriminated pretty much the whole time. If the roles were reversed I definitely could have had a good case for a lawsuit!!!
Favoritism, discrimination, no communication, low morale, need I say more?
Very upbeat environment with friendly dispatchers and drivers
Courier/Driver (Former Employee) – Columbus, OH – April 27, 2016
Dynamex was a delivery company with friendly employees that afforded driver plenty of latitude to operate between work and personal life. A difficult part about the job was waiting around when there were no work opportunities.
Independence and the latitude to create one's own hours
Sometimes things would slow down and drivers waited without work
Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Former Employee) – New Brighton, MN – May 28, 2016
As lead on the overnight shift, the main focus was to prepare shipped items to be processed and sorted to be delivered. Proper procedures ensured products to be available for drivers to deliver on various routes through out Twin Cities metro area.
Driver/Operator (Current Employee) – Carrollton, TX – April 20, 2016
The environment for all Independant Contractors is one of structure discipline where routes are given and drivers are aware that we are responsible to deliver all packages in a timely manner. Dynamex contacts customers when we can't reach them and reschedule a date for re-delivery. Over all it is a good environment to work in.
