Director, Global Benefits (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXNovember 15, 2015
DynCorp International, a government contractor, primarily defense and Department of State, particularly in the Middle East, means 24/7 challenges, creates a culture of urgency and responsibility to support deployed employees and their families who remain CONUS.
The company motto, Always Do the Right Thing, is most important to employees.
Leadership recognizes the challenges and supports employees time off with liberal leave policies.
The company is a good place to work.,

Great if you like lack of Management care.
AH-64D/E Mechanic II (Former Employee) –  Temple, TXOctober 27, 2015
I was able to take as much personal time as needed, within reason. They allowed me to be with my family, yet made you feel guilty when you chose not to work overtime.
There is no such thing as retiring from this company, nor truly having a retirement future. It is a government contract only job. If the government does not provide the work, you simply go home without pay, or ultimately get laid off. No skills from this job transfer to anything tangible outside the military.
Management is horrible. The few that do care about you, are not favored in upper managements eyes. As a GM1 (Lowest level employee) you have the following bosses that you may or will interact with from daily to weekly, and all at one site.. A GM2, a GM3, a Supervisor for the GM3, A supervisor for the GM3's supervisor, a Deputy Site Manager, a Site Manager. Yes... That is 6 bosses that you will have to interact with. Lets not forget the training coordinator, the Technical Inspectors, the Government Inspectors, the Safety Officer. Its rather ridiculous how many chiefs there are as compared to the indians.
Actual hourly compensation is nice, however, the rest of the benefits are a joke.
I will never work for this company again. I would rather work 2 jobs flipping burgers for McDonalds in the day, and Burger King at night.
Pros
Pay, Allowance for family time
Cons
Too many to truly list. Read the review.

Being part of the MWR team
MWR Library Attendant (Former Employee) –  Soto Cano AirBase, HondurasOctober 25, 2015
Everyday was a calm day, rarely have problems with angry customers.
I learned how to talk more to people and how to really develop my computer skills.
The management of the MWR was always good.
The Co-Workers were always friendly and helpful, they made the job area a lot better.
I would say the hardest part of the job was the monthly report, it took about 8 hours to do.
The interactions with co-workers and customers.
Pros
Awesome co-workers, friendly enviroment
Cons
Angry customers

Fun working environment fixing and inspecting aircrafts
Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Current Employee) –  Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MDNovember 11, 2015
On a typical day, I report to maintenance control and receive the work load. I then begin to take care of the work load. After the workload is done, we move the aircrafts around in preparation for the flight schedule the next day. I learned to prioritize and complete task in a timely manner. Co-workers are friendly and fun to work with. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to socialize with people from different race and background.
Pros
Steady Income
Cons
Less opportunities to move up corporate ladder

Good place to work with good benefits
Aircraft Powerplant Repair (Former Employee) –  Fort Drum, NYOctober 20, 2015
Good place to work. Its always a good thing when work does not feel like work and you feel a since of accomplishment every day. Would have stayed 20+ years but the big layoffs happened and all but 20 people were let go.
