You will participate directly in building a platform designed to reach, touch and affect the world. The position is based in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implement user experiences that work across web and mobile platforms.
  • Translates ministry needs into functional models and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with producers, designers and artists in the creation of media artifacts.
  • Reach people for an eternal purpose.
  • Keep up to date on changes to the UI / UX landscape.

Required Skills or Experience

  • 4+ years of professional UI/UX design
  • 4+ years of professional website development experience including PHP or Javascript
  • 4+ years of professional website design using HTML and CSS
  • Experience preparing wireframes, visual designs and prototypes
  • Experience building and consuming restful services
  • Experience in cross-browser style
  • Experience building user experiences that span onto mobile devices
  • Experience with a source control management system (Mercurial, Git, Subversion, etc)
  • Experience with Linux development & deployment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision within a lean agile environment

Desirable Skills or Experience

  • Wordpress plugin and/or theme development
  • Preference given to candidates with experience using a web framework – e.g. jQuery, ExtJS, Prototype.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Fireworks.
  • Experience with relational database management systems (e.g. MySQL)
  • Experience with NoSQL database architecture (e.g. MongoDB, RIAK)
  • Experience or exposure to memcache
  • Exposure to cross-domain browser security vulnerabilities.
