ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Make outbound calls to prospective customers
Manage prospect list
Document call activity
Make reports to supervisor as requested by management
Secure information necessary to analyze insurance needs of potential individual and group customers
Explain insurance options to prospective and current customers
Answer customer or prospective customer questions and send them requested information
Enroll new members
Prepare or aid customers in the preparation of applications for insurance coverage
Submit applications to carriers
Secure quotes from carriers
Present quotes to prospective customers
Bind coverage and obtain consideration from customers
Act as liaison between customers and insurance companies
For groups, work with marketing to prepare appropriate materials
Submit premium checks to accounting
Submit commission reports to accounting
Manage customer accounts throughout the year as needed
Handle renewal of accounts
Other production duties as needed or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Texas Life and Health insurance license
  • Experience in the insurance industry including sales experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years customer service experience
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Be confident and proactive in making outbound calls and closing sales
  • Being able to accept realistic quotas and achieve them in a reasonable amount of time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to clearly communicate verbally or in writing the

features and benefits of insurance products to customers

  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word,

Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to analyze and interpret insurance policies and insurance coverage and clearly explain the

same

  • Ability to solve problems and multitask while handling customer calls
  • Ability to handle stress as well as complex and diverse calls
  • General knowledge of insurance benefits including health, life, and ancillary products such as

dental, vision, and disability

  • General knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and processes
