Eagle Cliff, is a good place to work if you like a fast paced work environment where at any moment things can go from good to bad.
A typical day at work is this:
Day shift CNA's get there at six am, we get report from the night shift CNA's and then we are on the floor running to get people up for breakfast in less than two hours. After breakfast it gets a little quitter. You have to get vitals done, pass ice water out to all the residents and patients, shower some of the residents if it happens to be their bath day, help or take them to the bathroom depending on if you have to physically assist them or not. Then you have to get them back up for lunch. Some residents we have to help feed because they are no longer able to do it themselves. Then after lunch we have to change and toilet people and lay some of them down in bed or in their recliner if they have one.
management is ok, however it need some work. They could show us on the floor that they care more and that we are appreciated!
My co-workers are fantastic! We all work together to make sure that the tasks that we are assigned are completed and completed correctly. That is the only way that things ever get done.
The hardest part of my job is knowing that he people I take care of have lost everything and are now living somewhere that is not home to them. Some have lost kids, spouses. All of them have lost their homes and the lives that they had before they moved in. Another really hard part of my job is getting close to the residents and having them be like apart of your family and then have them pass away.l
The most enjoyable part is knowing that everyday I go into work, I am bringing something into their lives. No matter how big or small, I am still bringing something back into their lives.
