The Polk County Itemizer-Observer newspaper, located in Dallas, OR and part of Eagle Newspapers Inc., is accepting applications for a full-time writer/reporter opening in our newsroom. We are looking for the best person and the best fit for our newsroom. Position will start in late October or around Nov. 1.
The position will require demonstrated newspaper writing and reporting ability using Associated Press style. Skills in photojournalism, page design and pagination skills using Quark XPress are pluses.
Candidates must be energetic, detail-oriented, creative, self-motivated team players with strong time management skills. Newspaper experience at the professional or collegiate level, as well as knowledge of the AP Stylebook, is required to be considered.
Motor vehicle driving record check as well as pre-employment drug screening required. EOE. Full-time benefits include health care, vacation, sick time, life insurance, 401(k) and FSA, plus a great working environment.
