Applicants must have 2 years OTR experience.
Primarily responsible for driving all company vehicles (tractor trailers, straight trucks, vans) as assigned.
All drivers (freight, HHG, OTR) are responsible for safely transporting goods from origin to destination, remaining compliant with DOT regulations, dealing with customers in a diplomatic and courteous manner at all times, having all company and customer paperwork completed, and following all safety procedures and policies as noted by Eagle Van Lines, Inc.
Work with dispatchers daily, in person or by phone. Must complete basic truck driving applicant screening requirements: drug tests, background checks and driving records.
Household goods drivers are also responsible for supervising and directing the crew in order to efficiently complete the job assigned, including coordinating who will inventory, pack, and load, and when it will be done.
Correctly complete all paperwork (including customer signatures) for designated job, including 1850, 619, 619.1, inventories, trip reports, etc.
Must be proficient at packing, loading, inventorying, etc. using methods approved by Eagle Van Lines, Inc. This includes loading items on moving truck/van in order to maximize capacity and eliminate any possibility of damage in transporting. Packing items using correct wrapping and boxes required. Inventorying shipments as required, using correct documentation procedures. Know all moving equipment and proper uses for each, including dollies, liftgates, walkboards, etc.
